Before I left, in CS, Univ. of Helsinki, the course format was pretty much fixed. Very few spirited minds tried to do something differently, and they were disliked or dismissed :(<br /> <br />Another great source of ideas is conferences, and especially sessions with student demonstrations. It is amazing to realize "oh, you can do this!" I don't know how it works in archaeology, but computer/cognitive science and AI it does.teihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00331659442232574454noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4135495181356872597.post-4667154328602833032011-12-30T15:26:05.584+02:002011-12-30T15:26:05.584+02:00In the case of an archaeologist, the end will prob...In the case of an archaeologist, the end will probably not pay off, not literally, at least. :DPaula Koukihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11180368238163991249noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4135495181356872597.post-27539284244480755452010-04-26T23:27:50.102+03:002010-04-26T23:27:50.102+03:00:-D):-D)Pitbullsiilihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16877926971062455300noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4135495181356872597.post-41591557778163622132010-04-25T17:50:13.169+03:002010-04-25T17:50:13.169+03:00Whoa! I really enjoyed the Roman Agora much more - there were no construction works and very few areas were roped off. No matter that the translation studies are really quite different from, say, philology. Anyway, I guess that's a good reason to cut down the costs, like 'Let's not have courses in literature for translators anymore, because English philology has those too.' - only it's not that easy to get a right to study those philology courses... Great fun. <BR/><BR/>But then, of course, humanities are never appreciated that much in Finland, so it's kind of ok to cut courses in such unproductive subjects first.scaredy-cathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03064885503308613245noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4135495181356872597.post-59324695482647926502008-11-15T14:41:00.000+02:002008-11-15T14:41:00.000+02:00Ahem.
